How odostrada Works

Odometer anchors replace constant GPS tracking.
Three steps. Full control.

1. Create Anchor

Enter or snap a photo of your odometer reading on arrival. Location is requested only at that moment.

2. Trip Calculates

The next anchor computes the exact distance traveled from the prior anchor. No background route tracking required.

3. Classify & Reconcile

Tag business or personal use, split mixed-use trips, and export organized reports for your own bookkeeping workflow.

Simple trip capture

Open the app, capture the odometer, verify the trip, and move on.

No all-day route map. No background tracking session to remember to stop. Just a quick, intentional record that becomes a clean trip segment, then a clean dashboard, on your device.

Privacy by Design

Built so we can't, not just won't

Most apps ask you to trust their policy. odostrada is built so the data never reaches us in the first place.

🔒

No account. Ever.

Free or paid, you never create a login. Nothing to breach, nothing to sell.

📡

No server logs

Your trips, odometer readings, and locations never touch our servers. For paid access recovery, your billing email passes transiently through our server to verify your purchase — it is not stored. Your payment processor handles billing under its own terms.

📍

No background GPS

Location is only requested when you create an anchor. No always-on tracking, no battery drain, no movement profile.

☁️

Your backup, your cloud

You can back up to your own Google Drive or iCloud. We never have access to it.

🚫

No ads. Ever.

Free or paid, no ads. odostrada doesn't sell your attention.

👁️

No behavior tracking

No analytics SDK, no session recording, no usage telemetry. What you do in the app stays in the app.

Works Smarter

"Privacy-first" is not "features-last"

odostrada catches likely mistakes before they become bad records, and pre-fills what it already knows so logging stays fast. No AI, no cloud, no surveillance — just a well-designed tool that respects your time.

📋

Meets IRS mileage log requirements

odostrada captures the date, distance, location, and business purpose the IRS requires for every trip. Claim the standard mileage rate with confidence — your exported CSV contains everything your accountant or tax preparer needs to maximize your deductions.

Also useful for HMRC (UK), Belastingdienst (Netherlands), DGFiP (France), German tax-office travel rules, CRA (Canada), and ATO (Australia).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

odostrada works a little differently from route-tracking apps. That is intentional. These are the questions most people need answered before they decide whether the workflow fits their business.

How does odostrada track mileage without background GPS? +

odostrada uses odometer anchors instead of all-day route logging. You record a reading when you arrive, and the next reading calculates the exact trip distance between those two points. Location can be requested at that moment to help identify where the anchor happened, but the app is not designed to build a continuous movement trail in the background.

What happens on the first reading for a vehicle? +

The first reading for any vehicle becomes that vehicle's starting anchor. It does not create a trip by itself, because there is nothing before it to measure against. The next reading on that same vehicle creates the first trip segment. This is especially important if you use more than one vehicle, because each vehicle keeps its own odometer chain.

Do I need to take a photo or enable GPS every time? +

No. Photos and point-in-time GPS are optional tools, not hard requirements for the core log. You can type odometer readings manually, and you can choose or create location tags without GPS. The point of the app is to help you create clean records with as little friction as possible, not force a single workflow.

Is odostrada only for U.S. mileage logs? +

No. odostrada includes a miles or kilometers preference and is useful anywhere a self-employed driver or small business needs a structured trip log. The app is designed around core recordkeeping fields like date, distance, location context, and business purpose, which also makes it a practical fit for users working with systems such as HMRC in the UK, CRA in Canada, and ATO in Australia. You should still confirm your own local tax rules and documentation standards.

How does odostrada save time without spying on me? +

odostrada gives you the shortcuts people actually want, without the surveillance they do not. It can suggest likely vehicles, locations, odometer readings, and business purposes using the records already on your device, including your own prior anchors, nearby saved places, and most-used tags. So logging gets faster and smarter, without background tracking, without server-side trip storage, and without an account.

What if I miss a trip or need to fix one later? +

You can edit a trip later, including its category and location tags. If one recorded segment really covered more than one purpose or should be broken apart, odostrada also lets you split the trip so the mileage can be assigned more accurately instead of forcing one label onto the whole distance.

What is the difference between exports and full backups? +

CSV and photo exports preserve the basics, but they do not restore the app state. Full backup and restore is the explicit app-level way to protect against device loss, move to a new device, or keep a stable backup in cloud or local storage you control. Unless you rely on a full phone backup, which is not the same thing and is not something odostrada can explicitly verify or restore from inside the app, exports alone should not be treated as a complete recovery plan.

Is iPhone Safari the same as using odostrada from the Home Screen? +

Not always. On iPhone, a normal Safari tab and a Home Screen launch can behave like different app contexts, especially around storage persistence and browser UI. If you want the best iPhone web experience, open odostrada in Safari first and then use Share to Add to Home Screen.

What should Android and iPhone users use today? +

Android users can install odostrada from Google Play today. iPhone users should use the odostrada web app in Safari and then use Share to Add to Home Screen if they want the best available iPhone workflow today. A native iPhone app is still planned for a future release, and timing may change.

Does odostrada store my trip data on your servers? +

No. odostrada does not store your trip data on our servers and does not have access to your trip log. Your records stay on your device unless you choose to export or back them up somewhere you control, such as your own local storage or your own cloud storage.

Who should use Business Pro instead of staying free? +

Business Pro is for people who need more than one business, more than one vehicle, or a much smoother backup and restore workflow. The free tier is enough to test the system and keep exports of your underlying records. Business Pro is what makes the app practical for more serious daily use with less manual overhead.

How do location tags and trip purpose tags work? +

Location tags are reusable places, so the same saved location can be used across vehicles. Trip purpose tags are business-specific, because the reasons you drive for one business do not always make sense for another. odostrada can still suggest the most relevant locations per vehicle and the most-used purposes per business.

Privacy Policy

Effective March 20, 2026

odostrada is operated by Mana Kitchen LLC. In this Privacy Policy, “odostrada,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Mana Kitchen LLC in connection with the odostrada app and related services.

1. Overview. odostrada is a local-first business trip logging app. In ordinary app use, trip logs, trip history, and odometer images are intended to remain stored on your device rather than being transmitted to our servers for central storage.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device. Depending on how you use the app, odostrada may store locally on your device information such as odometer readings, trip distances, trip classifications, vehicle and business labels, images you capture, export files, and backup files you choose to create.

3. Location Data. Precise location may be requested when you manually create an anchor or use features that depend on anchor location. odostrada is not designed to perform continuous background route tracking as part of ordinary use.

4. Camera and Photos. Camera access may be used to capture odometer images. If you choose to import or export images or backup files, the app may also request access to relevant device storage, photos, or files as needed for those user-initiated actions.

5. Purchases, Entitlements, and Platform Services. If you purchase or use paid features, app marketplaces and third-party service providers used for billing, subscription management, entitlement validation, fraud prevention, app distribution, or similar operational purposes may process limited account, device, app-instance, purchase, and transaction-related information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use this Privacy Policy to override those third-party terms.

6. Diagnostics and Support. We do not seek to receive your trip logs, odometer images, or trip history in ordinary app operation. However, if you contact us for support, we may receive and retain the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, screenshots, exports, attachments, device details, or diagnostic information you send us.

7. How We Use Information We Receive. To the extent we receive information directly from you or through app marketplace and operational service providers, we may use it to provide customer support, verify purchases or access rights, maintain app functionality, detect abuse or fraud, comply with law, and protect our rights and the security of the app.

8. Sharing. We do not sell your trip logs or odometer images. We may share limited information when necessary with service providers that help us operate the app or its paid access features, with app marketplaces involved in distribution or billing, in connection with a business transfer, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.

9. Data Retention. Locally stored app content remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, overwrite it, or remove it through your own device or app actions. Information you send to us directly, or information processed by third-party operational providers, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for support, billing, security, legal, or operational purposes.

10. Backups, Exports, and User Control. You control whether to create or share exports and backups. Regular CSV and image exports may preserve the underlying record information you choose to keep, but they are not the same as full in-app backup and restore and may require manual merging, file organization, or re-entry. Backup, export, and restore functionality may vary by tier, platform, browser, and device. For browser-based and PWA use, including iPhone web app use, locally stored data may be deleted, cleared, evicted, become inaccessible, or fail to persist due to browser, operating system, device, or storage behavior outside our control. Once you export, back up, transfer, email, upload, or otherwise move data outside the app, its confidentiality and retention may depend on the services, devices, locations, and people you choose to use.

11. Children. odostrada is intended for adult business use and is not directed to children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes are posted. Your continued use of the app after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.

13. Contact. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to [email protected].
